As one year ends and another begins it is worth recognising the achievements of our Seniors Section during 2019.

The Friendlies team led by Seniors Captain Andrew Haigh attained their best ever results with a remarkable 13 wins from 15 games.

This was perhaps an indicator as to what was to follow in the guise of Colin Green and his Seniors team, who as we know became Lawrence Batley champions in 2019 for the first time in the club’s history. Amazingly just 14 players were used during the season and they all deserve a mention in addition to the personalised ball markers/pitch repairers that they received from the Seniors Section in recognition of their notable achievement.

The year ended with the Christmas lunch presentation of Seniors Section trophy winners for 2019 as attached. Special thanks go to club stalwart Mike Davies, who has not had the best of golfing times due to injury, but on his own initiative has still managed to regularly attend most Tuesdays to keep the air hose area tidy and clear of grass.

Finally, it’s a big thank you and well done to all seniors members, who whether they’ve won a trophy or not have clearly all contributed to a highly successful and competitive golfing environment at West Bradford that we should all be proud of.

Let’s all hope for a repeat in 2020!
