Well well well! Who said lightening never strikes twice in the same place, especially at West Bradford where it happened on Monday in week 10 of the Senior Captain’s Cup (SCC) competition.
Whilst Pete Leskovac enjoyed what everyone thought was just a one week stay at the top of the leaderboard, it happened again when yours truly had one of those rounds we all dream of 🙏🏼
The outcome was a personal top score in more than a year of 43 points, a 2 shot pull and a return to the top given albeit due to previous leader Ray Hawley’s absence and 2nd place Ian Peirson’s below par 31 points.
Milk it while you can!

2nd place on the day went to an ever improving John Walker with an impressive score of 39 followed in 3rd by Les Cooper on 37, after both players also returned their best scores of the year. 4th place with 36 points went to ‘Super Senior’ Steve Warner, who edged out Richard Adams on countback.

Good to welcome back both John Goodyear and Colin Hayhurst as they both made their first competitive starts of the year.

Senior moment of the day had to go to Steve Crawshaw who arrived at the 1st tee searching high and low for his golf cap, but to no avail resulting in a prompt purchase via Jamie in the pro shop. 9 holes in to the round, the aforementioned missing cap was seen hanging proudly from his golf bag as pictured! He now has 3 nearly new caps 🧢🧢🧢!
It was perhaps just as funny as the member, who shall remain nameless, who was half way down the 11th when he suddenly realised he’d left his trolley and bag at the tee!

Next Monday sees week 11 of the SCC followed by our Senior Captain’s ’Howay’ Day on Thursday for which details will be announced shortly.
