Week 11 of the Senior Captain’s Cup (SCC) was a surprise medal and the surprises didn’t end there as we saw yet another new leader in the hunt for the coveted trophy 🏆
Past seniors skipper Paul Winter was that man as he rolled back the years to show he has fully recovered from his long lay off due to an injured shoulder as he notched a net score of 65.
For info medal scores are converted to stableford points using the competition scratch score CSS on the day. The CSS on Monday was 68 which equates to 36 points, meaning 67 would be 37 points, 69 would be 35 and so on.
Paul’s net 65 gave him a converted stableford score of 39 to move him to the top of the leaderboard by 4 points over Ian Peirson, who in turn is just 1 point ahead of Ray Hawley in 3rd, with last week’s leader Pete Leskovac dropping to 4th by 1 point behind Ray. Richard Adams moved up to 5th place as he top scored on the day with an impressive net 64, which included 8 gross pars!
With another 7 weeks to play the opportunity is still there for any of the top 20 to make a charge up the table, especially those players who have yet to register their 8th score, John Dutton, Steve Warner, Simon Major and Keith Sutcliffe to name but a few.
With a top prize of £100 and the honour of winning the major seniors section trophy let’s see how everyone responds to the challenge 💪🏻🏌🏻♂️
