After a long run of dry Monday mornings, 28 June was not necessarily the date that one would to expect high winds and rain.
Nevertheless that’s what the brave hardy seniors, who managed to roll out of bed had to endure in order to post a score in week 5 of the Senior Captain’s Cup SCC.

The inclement weather certainly took it’s toll on the bulk of the field with only 2 players achieving par scores. Eddie Presland playing off 12 handicap showed his ability with a majestic 37 points with 10 pars despite a bad start with double bogeys at the 1st and 2nd holes.

2nd place went to Mr Consistency, Ray Hawley, whose 36 points kept him top of the overall leaderboard and maintained his 36 point average from all 5 weeks.

3rd place on the day went to ‘seniors newbie’ Gary Cobb with a score of 34 from an impressive handicap of 7, the lowest by far amongst our group.

Ray has now stretched his lead at the top of the SCC to cut a whopping 10 points over Peter Mungovin with the rest of the chasing pack some way behind, but with lots of weeks to go it’s not over till it’s over!
