Welcome to the WBGC Members Forum
Whilst the current Covid-19 restrictions meant our seniors section were unable to have our traditional away day, it didnât affect the enjoyment or the quality of golf for all who attended the Senior Captainâs âHowayâ Day played at our very own WBGC.
The 31 players were competing for the prestigious Douglas Ingham Trophy 🏆 and itâs fair to say that the winner on the day most certainly deserved to win and have his name engraved for perpetuity.
Having marked his card, I watched, I admired and I applauded on what was an outstanding 18 holes of golf resulting in a record score of 48 points, namely Steve Godfrey 👏🏻
On a day of high scores 2nd place went to Alan Low who had to leave early before all the results were in, but in confident mood that his impressive 45 points was surely in with a chance and the same could be said for 3rd place Chris McLaren who shot an excellent 44 points, but Steveâs card with 3 net eagles and 7 net birdies tells itâs own story and made him a worthy winner on the day.
However, Chris did have the comfort of recouping some of his previous years many losses with his usual âbeat my scoreâ bet as he left smiling with pockets bulging with over ÂŁ50 in ÂŁ coins! 💰😊
Nearest the pin winners on the day were Andrew Haigh, Maurice Tillotson and Chris McLaren ⛳️
The best team score prize went to Mike Day, Pete Leskovac and with a little help from Steve Godfrey! 👑😉
Many thanks to everyone for fully embracing the situation and contributing to an enjoyable dayâs golf and camaraderie in true West Bradford spirit 👍🏻
