After last week’s first defeat of what’s been a tremendous season Colin Green’s Lawrence Batley lads bounced back in style at home to Low Laithes by 6-2 and did it without the leader himself. Colin took on the role of non playing Captain in true Ryder Cup style to encourage his team to victory with rookie Tim Hemingway impressing on his debut.

Both teams paid their respects with a minute’s silence in recognition of this week’s sudden death of Lawrence Batley secretary, Richard Smith.

Individual match scores were as follows;

Ian Peirson & Tim Hemingway
Won 3&2

Keith Sutcliffe & Alan Greenwood
Won 5&3

Peter Mungovin & Simon Major
Won 3&2

Lars Trkjula & Tony Fothergill
Lost 1 down

The win keeps West Bradford in 2nd place hot on the heels of Huddersfield with just 4 games to go.

Next up on Friday 12 July is a trip to Woodsome Hall.
