Yesterdays outstanding away result at Shipley was extremely sweet . Because of the pandemic , along with other venues , we did not play at Shipley last year , but it was worth the wait . As usual their course was in excellent condition and this year , perhaps with out setting a precedent , twelve players were invited . So far we've been lucky with the weather and the sun certainly shone for us , in particular Mr Colin Pitman who had a hole in one on the 3rd hole . Well done Colin and like the wiskey that was produced , certain things get better with age ! . In fact the sun shone on all the teams with a resounding 5 1/2 to 1/2 win . The results were myself and Wyn Parry won 5 & 4 , Eddie Presland and Mr hole in one Colin Pitman won 2 & 1 , Peter Mungovin and Tim Winterburn won 1 up , David Potts and Ian Peirson halved , John Goodyear and Bob Helley won 3 & 2 , Roy Baker and Mike Day won 3 & 2 , well done lads , what a great result and we look forward to play them at home in two weeks time . The next friendly game is AWAY to Elland next week on TUESDAY 18th May , the team sheet is on the notice board . As you all know , the draw for this years Seniors Summer K O competition was made after last Mondays game and is up there there to view .Moving further on , this years Seniors Captains Away Day on THURSDAY 12th AUGUST has been booked at Skipton golf club . More details will follow regarding catering etc as I have not as yet received a menu but we can presume the format will be similar to previous years at other venues , I for one am looking forward to this event . Have a good week end and hopefully see you on Monday cheers Andrew
