Today saw the final week of the main seniors section competition of 2022, the Senior Captain’s Cup (SCC) 🏆
The winner of this prestigious trophy, which is played as a club qualifier from the white tees is determined from the best 8 cumulative stableford scores from a maximum of 20 weeks.
The SCC is always highly competitive and this year proved to be no exception, perhaps highlighted by the fact that there 16 different weekly winners throughout the season!
The pressures of organising each weekly competition in his first year as seniors section skipper proved to be a catalyst for Les Cooper, who became overall winner and seniors champion golfer with an excellent total score of 302 points.
Many congratulations to Les, who is believed to be the first seniors captain to win his ‘own’ SCC trophy and commiserations to runner up Roy Baker with 299 points, who pushed Les all the way to the final week.
3rd place went to ‘newbie’ Tony Fallas on 293 points followed by ‘Super Senior’ Mike Davies in 4th with 289 points to show that age is certainly no barrier!
Well done to Les, seen celebrating below in style and many thanks to all seniors who took part throughout the year.
Please note that all seniors trophies and voucher prizes will be presented at the Annual Seniors Section Christmas lunch on Wednesday 14 December.
