You couldn’t make this amusing but eerie story up so here goes..
Sit back, read and believe!!
Colin Hayhurst phoned me on my mobile a short time ago, which in itself is a story, but not the one I’m about to recall.
I could tell from the tone of his voice that something extraordinary had happened and it wasn’t a win for Bradford City as they’re not even playing!
Colin had just returned home from a walk on Baildon golf course ⛳️, which he uses for his allowed daily morning exercise 🚶🏼♂️as he lives next to the course.
The story goes that he was walking down the 7th fairway with not a person in sight when he spotted 👀 a yellow golf ball in the distance in the middle of the fairway. Like you do he decided to check it out in the hope it was a Pro V1, but sadly on arrival he could see it was only a yellow Srixon 2 and even worse looked to have a personalised name on it that was difficult it overwrite with the initials CH!
Being recognitive of the current climate he cautiously rolled the ball over with his foot to see the condition of the ball to see if was worth picking up when he noticed the printed name!
The name on the ball was amazingly none other than our very own IAN LIGHTBODY!!
After retelling the story to a flabbergasted Ian the story is all the more amazing due to the fact that Ian last played the course with Colin and myself some 2 years ago when Ian recalls losing at least 4 balls to Baildon’s infamous heather.
As the saying goes, someone’s loss is usually someone else’s gain, however in this case don’t worry Ian as you’re ball is now in safe hands ready to be returned to its rightful owner. As for the other 3, it’s fingers crossed as Colin goes for his daily walk. 😉
The true stories are always the hardest to believe, but the evidence is here for all to see.
Keep safe guys 🙏🏼❤️
