Despite lockdown and our golf course being closed there’s still been plenty of action going on and I don’t just mean from our hard working greens team!

As you know our ‘super senior’ Bob Helley has been keeping a watchful eye on West Bradford’s honorary resident bunny, affectionately named Bobby and it was during this week’s feeding visit that our Bob encountered two uninvited female intruders attempting to access the course fence and no doubt a subsequent bunny steal! I jest not as you couldn’t make this up, but clearly some subterfuge planning had taken place! 🕵️🕵️

Unbeknown to the assailants, Bob 🦸🏼‍♂️ was fortunately on hand and despite being outnumbered by two to one, Bob moved very quickly, risking life and limb to save our bunny 🐰🙏🏼
As Bob approached the two ladies, who had apparently accessed via a gap in the perimeter fencing close to the 14th tee, one of the ladies pulled up her hood to conceal her identity and made a swift and cowardly exit leaving her partner to face the interrogation and subsequent admonishment from Bob.

Members will recall that there has been some external interest with regards to rescuing our bunny, notably from a lady called Vicky, who may well have known the hooded intruder 😉 who escaped Bob’s wrath and as such Bob has duly sent an email to Vicky seeking her assistance in passing on the message “hands off OUR rabbit”!
Not wishing to encourage or facilitate any potential litigation I will not be publishing the aforementioned email, but suffice to say it is highly unlikely that those two very same individuals will make a similar attempt.
To follow up on the story I decided to make a visit to the course today in the hope of checking on the welfare of our much loved bunny. With a tempting apple core in hand and having been advised by Bob on how to facilitate a friendly interaction I am delighted to announce that bunny Bobby was at home on the 14th tee and looking in excellent health as can be seen from the attached video.

Given the current lockdown restrictions it is all the more heart warming in the season of goodwill to see such a warm and caring nature from one of our own ❤️🐰
