Welcome to the WBGC Members Forum
Lots of seniors were clearly in the mood for some competitive golf as the 2020 Senior Captain’s Cup (SCC) got underway on Monday.
For future reference the delayed SCC will now take place every Monday until 28 September, which will equate to 18 weeks. The format is an individual stableford or medal competition and as in previous years the winner will be determined from the highest cumulative total of the best 8 scores out of the possible 18 weeks.
Today’s winner and tournament leader with a ‘hot’ score of 39 points was former Bantam Roy Baker closely followed by Ray Hawley in 2nd on countback over Simon Major who both notched a more than decent 38 points.
Pete Leskovac came in 4th with 36 points edging out Peter Mungovin also on countback.
It was good to see both Paul Winter and John Walker return to the fold after lengthy absences due to injury.
Week 2 of the SCC is on 8 June and will hopefully be a club handicap qualifier. All entries to compete on the Monday need to be submitted no later than 3pm on the Friday to Seniors Captain Andrew Haigh via email a.w.haigh@googlemail.com or via text to 07542 500309
The leaderboard is shown below.
