With tournament leader Ray Hawley missing week 6 of the Senior Captain’s Cup there was bound to be a new leader and so it proved with Roy Baker’s 35 points in 4th place being enough to push him back to the top of the table with Richard Adams moving in to 2nd just 3 points behind Roy.
Alan Greenwood was top dog on the day in difficult conditions with a supreme 39 points, which was his best of the season. He was closely followed by Ian Peirson in 2nd place with 38 points beating newbie Tim Winterburn on countback.
With 12 more weeks to go it looks like being a close affair so watch this space!

Next Monday 13 July sees the Bob Vass Memorial Trophy, which is a stableford qualifier for seniors over 55 and played from white tees. These scores will also count towards SCC 7. The trophy, which is named after a past seniors captain will be presented to the winner with a pro shop voucher at the Seniors Christmas lunch on Wednesday 16 December so make a note of the date please!
