After yesterday’s monsoon weather it was great to see some sunshine and no more rain for today’s 168 golfers taking part in the WBGC Seniors Team Open 🌤 🏌🏻‍♂️🏌🏻‍♂️🏌🏻‍♂️🏌🏻‍♂️

As the final groups reach the closing holes it’s perhaps an opportune time to recognise the contribution of some of West Bradford’s staff in making this another huge success for the club.

Our Business Manager, Damian Connearn has been instrumental in promoting the event and effectively communicating with all the entrants in a professional and welcoming manner that reflects well on the club. He has been fully supported by our resident pro Jamie, who has worked tirelessly throughout what has been a very busy day with a smile on his face.

Our clubhouse has been open from 7am this morning and no doubt till very late looking at the names of the golfers still out on the course 🍺Our steward, Toni and staff have been serving food continuously, especially given it’s the final day of the government’s Eat Out To Help Out scheme. With 168 Yorkshiremen playing the 50% discount was certainly not going to be missed even if you weren’t hungry! So thanks to Toni and staff.

Recognition also to all the green staff and helpers in preparing the course, especially given the terrible weather. I am aware of Mick Gration, Rob Gee, Dave Hales, Joe Riley, who returned today and member Paul Smith on Monday working endlessly, but there may be others so thank you all and apologies if I missed anyone 🙏🏼

We now await the final results and subsequent lucky prize winners so watch this space for the official announcement 📣

Finally a big thank you on behalf of our Seniors Section Committee to all members and visitors who entered today’s event and showed their support for the club, which is much appreciated 👍🏻

Given the popularity of both our two seniors events this year, a 4BBB Pairs in July and today’s 4 man team event there is a possibility of arranging another seniors competition in September or October. I would welcome your comments to gauge interest and if you would be willing to enter which of the following options would be preference please;

1. 4BBB Pairs as in July
2. 4 man team as today
3. 3 man team
4. Individual
5. Other (please state)

Thanks

Peter
