WINTER LEAGUE WL WEEK 1
There was no cause for ‘alarm’ as the Seniors Winter League kicked off in glorious sunshine ☀️ 🏌🏻♂️⛳️
For the newbies the winter league is an individual stableford competition, which where possible will be a qualifier played from yellow tees and scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. The winner will be determined from the best 6 from 12 and if level the best 5 and so on.
As the saying goes, “you can’t keep an old dog down” and there’s not many, if any, as old as our loveable octogenarian, Mr Bob Helley 👴🏻
If anyone in the Cullingworth area was woken from their slumbers in the early hours of Monday morning, there’s no cause for ‘alarm’ as it was only our Bob’s home security system🙄
With his treasured WW1 bayonet in hand fearless Bob carefully searched his home wearing his favourite Superman jimjams as added protection, looking to confront the intruders responsible. In less than 3 minutes ⏱, allegedly 😉, Bob eventually found the culprits in his living room, 2 deflated and sorry looking individuals!!
Two birthday 🎈🎈balloon numbers 8️⃣0️⃣ which had seemingly set off his alarm!
It’s fair to say that the episode did not affect Bob’s golf as the adrenaline was in full flow as he finished top of the shop 🥇 with a supreme score of 41 points including a blob to show that age is no barrier and he can still mix it with the best!
Well done to you Bob 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
2nd place on the day went to the man in hot form of late in Paul Winter with 38 points, followed by Wynn Parry on 36, who beat skipper Andrew Haigh on countback.
Next week sees a team game of all to count and average team score to determine the winners. Please submit your names to Andrew as usual before Friday 3pm.
