16 hardy souls turned up for today’s week 3 of the Seniors Winter League and despite the reluctance of some the decision was made to brave the weather.
What followed was some excellent scores with birthday boy, John Dutton top scoring on his ‘official debut’ as a senior with a very impressive 44 points pipping Ian Peirson on countback!
A very good round of 43 points by Alan Evans could only muster 3rd place with Pete Leskovac’s 42 points giving him a paltry 4th on the day. The standard of golf certainly surpassed the weather and damp conditions as 3 other players managed to score 40 points and more.
With 9 more weeks to go the early pacesetters in the Winter League, which is determined from the cumulative best 6 scores from 12 are Roy Baker and Pete Leskovac due to the benefit of having registered scores in all 3 weeks.
The clubhouse was a good place to be after the golf as buns were aplenty with a double celebration as Steve Godfrey and John Dutton were the birthday boys!
Next Monday sees a team game with week 4 of the Winter League scheduled for Monday 18 November.
