Well we did it , no not the world cup or wimbledon or the ashes but actually managed a medal format last Monday , it only took 10 weeks . What a treat and for those that missed it ,don't worry as we are going to do it again . Prizes were for three places with Alan Evans and Steve Crawshaw both on 68 but Steve just edging it on count back and Ian Lightbody with 66 points winning the day , well done Ian . Quite a few knock out matches were played this week and congratulations to those who have progressed to the next round . Its been a busy week again and on thursday we hosted Howley Hall and after a quick team shuffle we did the double on them . The scores were Steve Godfrey and Chris McLaren won 7&6 , Mike Davies and myself won 2&1 , Alan Greenwood and Colin Pitman won 3&2 , Alan Evans and Alan Low lost 3&2 , and Peter Mungovin and Bob Helley lost 2&1 , well played lads . We don't have friendly fixture next week as its our open the day before , so the visitors on the 25th are Horsforth who we we need to beat to avenge our loss at the airport! . I would like to take this opportunity to thank Julie who kindly brought some home made buns in on thursday which were enjoyed by us and the Howley Hall team , such a kind and considerate lady , allso thanks to Alan Low who not only bought the last jar of coffee but has supplied us with toiletries for our open on the 17th , thank you Alan . Next Monday its week 12 of our summer comp. , only another 8 to go after that and its not just the weather thats heating up! , hope you all have a happy week end and look forward to seeing most of you on monday , andrew.
