With a full day of rain on the Sunday it was a case of fingers crossed that the course would be open on Monday morning for week 5 of the Seniors Winter League🤞🏻⛳️

 

Thankfully, the greens staff worked their magic and managed to get the 9 hole loop in play. Whilst it was hoped that we might be able to do a ‘double loop’ it was evident that a quiet looking tee sheet had been quickly filled since first tee off as the initial group completed the front 9 to see a busy 1st tee. 🙄

 

Consequently format of the day was the 9 hole stableford score plus 18 par points for being unable to play the remaining 9 holes.

 

Winner on the day with a very good 40 points was Peter Mungovin followed by a posse of 4 players all on 39 points, John Goodyear, Bob Helley, Pete Leskovac & Paul Winter.

 

As a result John Goodyear retained top spot as overall tournament leader by just a single point over ‘super Senior’ Bob Helley despite the distraction of his mobile phone in hand 😉

Pete Leskovac is in 3rd, followed by Paul Winter & Ian Peirson in 4th & 5th respectively.

Next Monday 21 December will be week 6 and half way through the competition, which is a best 6 scores from 12, meaning it’s all still up for grabs! 🏆
